It is one of the centres of business, social, political and cultural and artistic life of the capital. The Palace of Arts is located in the former building of the Kyiv branch of the Central Museum, whose construction to the design of a group of architects had lasted from 1978 to 1982. Monumental in character and concise in form, the building with an area of 17,550 square meters combined three above-ground and two underground storeys.
Ukrainian House has a number of exhibition and conference halls, a concert hall and an art gallery. The large hall is designed for holding business events (conferences, presentations, seminars, round tables), as well as artistic and specialised exhibitions. The hall was used as a press centre during the visits of US President Bill Clinton and Pope John Paul II to Ukraine.
