In Kyiv, 3 buildings bear this name. One of them is the revenue house at 9 Horodetskoho Street. It was built in 1900 for the construction contractor and famous Kyiv millionaire, Lev Ginzburg. The authors of the design project in the Renaissance-Baroque style were the architects Eduard Schleifer and Georgy Bradtman. The House stands out for its luxurious decoration with stucco, sculptures, and real chimaeras, and was well equipped technically, including an elevator and a water supply system. It had 7 floors (including the attic, burned down in 1941) and was the tallest building in the city at that time. There were shops on the lower floors, and the most prestigious apartments above them. During the World War II, the Ginzburg House was seriously damaged by fire and was rebuilt with Soviet ‘adjustments’ in the 1950s.
