Lukianivska is the 38th station of the Kyiv metro on the ‘green’ Syretsko-Pecherska line and named after the area where it is located. It was opened at the end of 1996. And half a year later, the first McDonald’s in Ukraine opened in the neighbourhood.
Constructed to the design of the architects Tamara Tselikovska, Mykola Alioshkin and Valerii Hnievyshev, the station has a three-vault structure with pylons and an island platform, 3 underground halls and 4 escalators. The station’s concourse houses metro services and a shopping complex. Lukianivska serves about 40,000 passengers a day. The plan is to make it an interchange station with the station Hlybochytska of the Podilsko-Vyhurivska line.
