The hill named after Shchek, one of the founders of the city, can boast not only its rich history. Its feature is a viewing angle of 270 degrees, which makes it possible to take beautiful photos from any angle. There is no equipped playground here, but the panorama that opens up is worth climbing here. The hill offers a wonderful view of Vynohradar, Obolon, Podil, the Dnieper and the bridges over it, Trukhaniv Island and the Left Bank.
The unusual topography of the hill formed two separate viewing platforms separated by a slope. Shchekavytsia is the oldest Kyiv necropolis. On one of its summits marked by a radio tower, there once was a destroyed Orthodox cemetery. On the other, the Old Believer cemetery, and at its foot, the Muslim one, near which since 2011, the Ar-Rahma mosque has been standing.
They say that the hill has properties of restoring mental health and bestowing positive energy.
