The 3D sculpture of the building became the 4th model of the site along the inclusive route. It was opened at the end of 2021 in front of the building housing Kyiv City State Administration and Kyiv City Council. Before the Second World War, the Belle Vue Hotel (later the Savoy) and one of the popular cinemas were located on this site. The modern building for city authorities was already part of the project of post-war reconstruction of the capital’s centre.
According to the original design, the building was supposed to be built on the model of the Moscow ‘Seven Sisters’, with a tower and a spire. But finally, they settled on the version of a classic 10-storey building designed by O. Vlasov, O. Zavarov, and O. Malinovskyi. Since 1957, City Council’s meetings have been held here, and the magnificent Column Hall is used for solemn events.
