Syrotkin’s House was the tallest at the time of its construction in 1903 and topped the list of the most luxurious buildings in Kyiv. It was here that the first elevator was installed, and steam heating was brought into the house. The ground floor of this revenue house housed shops and the popular Marquise pastry shop, and luxurious furnished rooms were rented out above.
Female sculptures are one of the brightest spots in the incredible decor of Syrotkin’s House. For nearly 120 years, they have been welcoming guests above the entryway and catching the eye of passers-by, no matter how many times you pass by.
